WSBA’s February Legal Lunchbox™ will take place on Tuesday February 22, 2022 from noon – 1:30 pm over webcast. This month, the CLE will focus on voter suppression, and voting rights work in Washington State. Molly Matter will present on the history of voter suppression, including felony disenfranchisement, the disproportionate impact on communities of color, and the need for the private Bar to enforce our right to vote to ensure fair elections. This CLE will provide a practical guide on doing voting rights work and discuss current voting rights cases in Washington state brought under the Washington Voting Rights Act, the federal Voting Rights Act and the First, Fourteenth and Fifteenth Amendments.
