TEMPORARY RECEPTIONIST/OFFICE MANAGER POSITION Wenatchee, WA

SUMMARY:Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP) seeks a full time Temporary Spanish-speaking Receptionist/Office Manager to join NWIRP’s Wenatchee office for a period of nine (9) months, with a potential of a three (3) months extension. The applicant must be fluent in English and Spanish. Due to COVID, the majority of this role is currently remote, however occasionally there may be a need to go into the office.
BENEFITS AND COMPENSATIONIn 2020, the beginning annual salary for candidates with no experience is $47,447 and is higher depending on years of directly relevant experience. For example, for someone with 10 years of directly relevant experience the annual salary would be $60,882; 20 years = $73,787.Because this full-time position is temporary, it is not covered by NWIRP’s Collective Bargaining Agreement. However, NWIRP offers a generous benefits package, including:
100% of premiums for excellent health, vision and dental plans;
3% employer retirement contributions;
Annual leave of 16 paid vacation days, 13 paid holidays, 12 paid health-related days; and

NWIRP’s Wenatchee office provides humanitarian based immigration legal services to low incomeimmigrant communities in North Central and Eastern Washington, in a fast-paced environment whileworking with clients on both affirmative and defensive immigration matters.

Answer and return calls to the office main line and refer to appropriate staff or external agencies as needed;
Conduct pre-screenings and intakes, by phone, and interview potential clients to gather or clarify information;
Provide administrative support including processing mail, cash receipts, and office supply orders, as needed;
Work with respective Unit staff attorneys, accredited representatives, and other staff members on cases, as needed;
Maintain a basic working knowledge of significant policies, laws, practices, and trends in immigration law;
Establish, organize, and maintain files;
Perform administrative tasks related to grant reporting and other requirements;
Participate in NWIRP’s outreach, community education, and development efforts;
Other tasks as assigned by supervisory staff.Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; utilize a phone, computer, keyboard, pen and paper.Emotional demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to discuss topics including, but not limited, to discrimination; child abuse, neglect, abandonment; domestic abuse; and other violenceSKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated commitment to advancing and defending the rights of immigrants and willingness to support NWIRP’s mission, vision, and values;
Excellent written and oral communication skills, and ability to organize information in a clear and concise manner;
Commitment to working in a diverse working environment;
Fluent in English and Spanish;
Previous immigration law experience preferred;
Previous work experience with children and youth preferred;
Previous work with survivors of violence preferred;
Strong organizational skills;
Ability to both a) work independently, and b) collaborate closely with team members on cases;and
Proficiency in use of web-based software and Microsoft Office applications, including Word andExcel, and web peer-to-peer communication platforms.REPORTS TO:Supervising Attorney
